**First Tip:** Before hiring a removal service, always look for removalists accredited by AFRA, as they must meet certain standards. The company in question has not been registered until today, July 27, 2025, indicating they may lack these essential standards.
WORSE SIX BROTHERS FAMILY REMOVELIST COMPANY!!! TAKE PHOTOS OF YOUR STUFFS AND MAKE A VIDEO TO PROVE THEM IT WAS GOOD CONDITION BEFORE THEY TOUCH, otherwise they don’t care about your complaint, specially after take your money.
I contracted Six Brothers Removals in 2020 and had no complaints. However, my recent experience with them was DISAPPOINTING. During this move, they showed little care for my furniture. When they attempted to move my three-seater sofa, they initially tried to fit it into the lift without removing the legs, only to realize it wouldn’t fit. I was not present to witness this process, but then Sam came to ask for a bag to keep the legs together so they wouldn’t get lost, which I did.
As they continued to move my other furniture, I noticed Sam was spending excessive time organizing the truck, particularly while he was loading two side tables. Meanwhile, Tim was disassembling my bed. It took them 15 minutes to leave my old apartment and head to my new one, even though we left at the same time. Once we arrived, they took their time unloading and assembling the furniture.
After the move, I didn’t have time to organize my belongings. Eight days later, when I went to move my sofa, I discovered scratches on the wood and one of the legs was broken and scratched. Upon inspecting it closely, I found that a screw was broken. I sent an email to Six Brothers explaining the situation, and their response was, “I’ve reviewed your photos and understand your concerns about how the sofa was handled. However, I’ve attached photos taken by our removalist on the day, prior to moving your items, which show that some damage to the sofa legs was present before we commenced the service.” (Last two photos)
The photos they provided showed damage to the leg taken in the corridor near the lift, and the damage on the side of the sofa was taken in the lobby of my building. The flooring in those photos was not the light grey of my apartment, which suggests the damage likely occurred when they were trying to fit the sofa with the legs still attached. I questioned why they didn’t take a photo of my sofa before moving it.
In response to my concerns, Six Brothers stated, “If you’re able to provide clear photos or video showing the good condition of your items before our team started the move, I can look into this further for you. Kind Regards, Kara | Six Brothers Team.”
Would you trust a company that doesn’t take responsibility for damages caused during their service?
Additionally, I noticed a few minor issues worth mentioning for anyone considering this company.
When they arrived, they were unhappy with the parking spot I chose and suggested I park about 100 meters away which is NO PARKING . They insisted that could be a better spot to parking, but I have to sign a disclaimer on my phone stating I would cover any fines incurred, which I refused to Parking on NO PARKING.
When it came to disassembling my bed, they asked if I had an automatic drill, which I lent them. I believe this tool is essential for professional removalists, but I didn’t mind lending it.
They didn't wrap my sofa or any fabric parts of my bed, even though they advertised that they would. As a result, my sofa and parts of my bed got stained, which is very disappointing.
Also, they left my tallboy unwrapped.
While these may seem like minor issues, I am particularly frustrated with how they handled the damage to my sofa. I will never hire this company again and cannot recommend them. I believe there are more reliable removalists available in the They didn't wrap my sofa or any fabric parts of my bed, even though they advertised that they would. As a result, my sofa and parts of my bed got stained, which is very disappointing.
**BAD EXPERIENCE WITH SIX BROTHERS REMOVALS**

No issues at all with their service. Very punctual, positive attitude, and knowledgeable on how to wrap, move and tie down furniture. Even when unpacking the truck, they communicate and ask where to leave furniture.
TERRIBLE! Do not engage with this company! We have just experienced the most atrocious service (Work order 833968) This has also been lodged with the Department of Fair Trading.
X – AGGRESSIVE CONTRACTORS - Staff were so unprofessional, difficult to deal with and unprofessional. They use contractors, who actually yelled at us, refusing to move certain items, severely scratched our floor boards – which we pointed out and they just aggressively said “well do you want your furniture moved or not?” Refused to disassemble and assemble items which we then had to hire people to do later. We actually had to help carry the majority of the furniture and boxes as they were very rough, dropping boxes and breaking items.
X – MIDNIGHT DELIVERY - We booked a back load, understanding the work order said furniture would be delivered between 7am – 5pm, we were verbally told around 9am. It arrived at 10:45pm, finishing at 12:50am! – the company management said this was acceptable, and again when I questioned this staff member Ronnie yelled at me down the phone saying “Do you want your furniture or not”. We had new neighbours put in formal noise complaints.
X – SCAM ADDITIONAL CHARGES - We had an inventory of one bedroom house of furniture with 40 large boxes (we only used 22) and got calculated by their staff 25 cubic meters. We were then told we had 15 cubic meters additional and so had to pay $770 more, this was absolutely false, fabricated and a SCAM. We got told we wouldn’t get our furniture unless we paid, like our furniture was held ransom. I later had a builder calculate our furniture at 18 cubic meters (7cubic meters under), When asked management couldn’t justify any measurements or how they came to that calculation, regardless continued to hassle us about the additional measure and cost.
X – UNPROFESSIONAL OFFICE STAFF - Dealing with management has been ABSOLUTELY TRAUMATIC to be honest quite scarring. When speaking with staff Kara and Fatima they both agreed that the service had been terrible, that the cubic measurements had to be false, however I would have to chase them for any follow up. I documented all conversations. Then in a final conversation with James the supervisor he LAUGHED down the phone at me, belittled me and was incredible condescending and rude, left me feeling like I had been bullied and abused.
X – NO RESOLUTION - Reading the company’s responses to people with similar dealings they are so quick to offer empathy, asking you email resolutions@sixbrothers etc. This is what we did, and it actually made the whole situation worse and more difficult. They openly state they will offer a full refund to customers, Fatima offered 20% compensation but this was then strangely taken back after she spoke to higher managment. Expect absolutely NO FORM OF COMPENSATION, we are now having scratched floorboards, we had to pay for addition trades to reassemble furniture, I have new neighbours who are irate from the noise in the middle of the night, and am overall left with such a traumatic and awful experience in moving. They will try to manipulate facts and catch us out in response to try to seem helpful, empathetic. Trust me we tried all avenues to deal with them, they were harsh, aggressive and offered no understanding or support.
Strongly strongly advise – DO NOT use this company, seek alternate to save yourself a lot of pain and damage to your furniture and moving experience.
The gentlemen, contacted me the night before and advised of their estimated pick up time.
The next morning both of them arrived at the house on time and very professional. We were at a 3 bedroom house moving into an apartment on level 5, and everything was packed and loaded after an hour.
When we got to the new apartment the boys unpacked everything and unloaded from the truck, up the elevator and into the apartment. Everything was so quick and everything was done with no damage.
The guys were super friendly also. Thanks so much to the boys, will book six brothers again!! Highly recommend and very affordable too.
I called Six Brothers Removalists and they managed to squeeze me into a 3 hour window. The two employees were on time, quick and professional. They moved the entire contents of our home in that time. I cannot thank you enough for coming to our rescue. To top it Six Brothers Removalists were cheaper than the company that screwed us over. I will defiantly be using this company again.
***see photos for how much we moved- 1 sofa, 1 coffee table, 1 TV cabinet, 1 dining table, 1 rug, 4 chairs, a few small side tables, these boxes, and
(Not pictured) 1 desk, 2 small shelves, 2 small bedside tables, 1 queen bed, 1 mattress, and about 4 suitcases. This
took them FIVE HOURS and cost us $777, and the majority of these items were from my parents 4wd and trailer because they didn’t send a truck big enough to carry even this small amount of stuff. DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR QUOTE.***
Got a great quote from Six Brothers? Read this first! So did we! Our usual removalist wasn’t available so we were grateful it wouldn’t cost us an arm and a leg. Quotes $320-ish.
- regardless of what you tell them you have (a 2 bedroom apartment with 2 adults living there) they’ll send a truck big enough for a single person moving out of their parents house with no furniture.
- they won’t wear masks in your house
- they won’t move any of your kitchenware. Nothing marked “fragile”. No plates, mugs, glasses, nothing. If it has a “fragile” sticker, they won’t take it. Do it yourself. Hope you’ve got a big car!
- they won’t move any of your furniture unless you remove the legs first, even if the legs are ten centimetres tall.
- they’ll sit on the back of their truck, playing with the hydraulic lift while your elderly father carried dining chairs for them
- they’ll try to take EVERYTHING THEY CAN down the stairs. Sounds fine right? Wrong! There’s a $50 charge per item, and they’ll milk that for all it’s worth. Our mattress was delivered THAT MORNING via the lift, and they tried to insist it wouldn’t fit so they could get the extra charge. (Shocker, it fit fine with space to spare)
- They’ll try to convince you to sell things to avoid during work. They realised our dining room table was heavy (it’s a normal particleboard table from Ikea and weighs exactly 51.16kg) instead of moving it, they told us to list it on Facebook marketplace and get a new one instead. No thanks? We picked it up and moved it ourselves.
- they’ll come into your house, look at how much there is to move, pack everything BUT the furniture, and THEN decide that the furniture won’t fit, so that they’ll have to UNPACK THE WHOLE TRUCK and repack it. What a fabulous way to jack up the amount of time required! That $350 quote suddenly doesn’t look so realistic once you’re into hour #3 of the $117 per hour charge and they haven’t even touched your fridge or washing machine yet!
We were forced to call my elderly parents to come with their trailer because we were not sent a truck that was big enough for a standard one bedroom plus study. My parents were trying to take the coffee table, dining table, chairs, desks, and most of the furniture that we have paid Six Brothers to move FOR us, and they are doing absolutely none of it.
When they did eventually arrive at our new apartment, the first thing they did was smash the bed head leg into the wall above the door frame, leaving a mark. No apology, they didn’t even say anything because they thought I didn’t see. until I told them I had in fact seen them do it, and their response was “oh whoops”.
We used a company called SAFE removalists to when we moved in to our west pennant hills property, and we wanted to use them again but they were booked out. They moved our entire apartment, down three flights of stairs (with exactly the same furniture), from Granville to West Pennant Hills, in 3.5 hours, for $550. I highly recommend SAFE removalists if you can get them. Almost all of their customers seem to be repeat customers.
We used Six brothers as a last resort, because they were one of the only ones available, and my god, now we know why.
We told them we don’t want a refund of the $777 we ended up paying them. Yes, that IS more than double what they quoted us!
We told them that the only thing we thought was fair is that we made sure that everyone we know goes to someone who deserves their business.
We had a terrible experience with this company, wife in tears. Movers had no idea on truck size, damaged our property and belongings based on poor experience. Very stressful experience and cost us dearly after having to order another truck on the day. Purchased boxes from them and was suppose to get refund after returning them. Still waiting for refund.
Their tagline is all about taking the stress out of your move. However, all they did was add to the stress.
- 6 hours late
- Poor customer service; I had to call them to chase up the status about 8 times
- When the guys turned up they were super slow with one guy mainly standing in the van not actually doing much lifting
- Waiting 5 mins before anyone answers the phone
- No empathy
- NO compensation for ruining my day
Total waste of money. Not professional. Not understanding. Not good at their job. Do not live up to their customer promise.
I don't normally write reviews, but I felt compelled to write about my experience using Six Brothers removalists. Here's a summary:
- truck was 5 hours late;
- no calls with updates;
- walls in my new place were damaged when goods carried into my apartment;
- driver didn't speak English so couldn't communicate;
- driver urinated on my balcony on arrival;
- should have been a 2 hour job, became 4 hour job - was charged $340;
They are not a removals company, they just contract to random drivers. Wish I'd never used them.
